  • 1 pound powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 14 ounces shredded coconut (sweetened)
  • 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
  • 10 ounces maraschino cherries (drained and chopped)
  • 3 cups finely chopped pecans
  • 16 ounces candy coating

Instructions

  1. Prepare cherries by chopping them into small pieces and blotting them dry with paper towels.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, coconut, sweetened condensed milk, cherries, and pecans until well mixed.
  3. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours to firm up.
  4. Form the chilled mixture into walnut-sized balls and return them to the refrigerator for another 20 minutes.
