Ingredients
- 4 cups Water
- 2 tbsp Kashmiri/Himalayan green tea
- 1/2 tsp Baking soda
- 1–2 Star anise
- 2 Cardamom pods (crushed)
- 1 Cinnamon stick
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 2 cups Whole milk
- Sugar or honey to taste
Instructions
- Boil water in a saucepan.
- Add green tea and boil for 5 minutes.
- Stir in baking soda; watch for color change to deep red.
- Add star anise, cardamom, and cinnamon; boil for another minute.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 20-30 minutes until reduced by half.
- Mix in salt and then add whole milk; bring back to a boil while stirring.
- Once pink, strain into cups to remove solids.
- Sweeten as desired and garnish with crushed nuts if preferred.
