  • 32 oz marinara sauce
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup Pecorino Romano cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and butter a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook ziti in salted water until al dente, about 1 minute less than package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the sausage with olive oil until browned; drain excess fat.
  4. Stir in minced garlic, then add marinara sauce and red pepper flakes; simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Combine the cooked pasta with the sauce mixture.
  6. Layer half of the pasta in the baking dish, sprinkle with half the mozzarella and Pecorino Romano. Repeat with remaining pasta and cheeses on top.
