  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 tsp white pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup apricot preserves
  • 1 tbsp chili sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup bourbon
  • Dash sriracha
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 slices brioche bread
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp almond extract
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • Pinch nutmeg
  • Pinch salt

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken in buttermilk, salt, and white pepper for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a Dutch oven to 350°F.
  3. Combine flour, onion powder, garlic, paprika, and Tony’s seasoning.
  4. Dredge marinated chicken in the flour mixture and fry until golden brown (about 7 minutes per side).
  5. For the sauce, simmer apricot preserves, chili sauce, honey, bourbon, and sriracha until thickened.
  6. Prepare French toast by whisking together eggs, milk, almond extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and soaking brioche slices before frying.
