- For Topping: ¼ cup white sugar
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ⅓ cup butter (melted)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a muffin tin by greasing it or lining it with paper liners.
- In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, nutmeg, and salt. Create a well in the center.
- In another bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, and melted butter until smooth.
- Pour the wet mixture into the well of dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined; some lumps are okay.
- Fill each muffin cup about two-thirds full with batter.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean from the center.
- While baking, mix sugar and cinnamon in one bowl and melt remaining butter in another.
- After cooling for about five minutes, dip each muffin top in melted butter and then coat with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
