- 1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg (beaten)
- 2 teaspoons ketchup
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil (for the skillet)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 1/2 cups beef stock
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 6 ounces sliced cremini mushrooms
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, panko breadcrumbs, egg, ketchup, Dijon mustard, oregano, and salt. Mix until just combined.
- Shape mixture into four oval patties about 3/4-inch thick.
- Heat olive oil in a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat; cook patties for about 3 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove from skillet.
- In the same skillet, melt butter and whisk in flour until smooth. Gradually add beef stock while whisking continuously.
- Add ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, and mushrooms; simmer for 5 minutes to thicken.
- Return patties to the skillet, cover, and cook for an additional 10 minutes until internal temperature reaches 160°F.
