  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • ½ cup water or beef broth
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil, divided
  • 1 yellow onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp grated ginger (optional)
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the sliced beef in soy sauce, cornstarch, rice vinegar, and sesame oil for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Whisk together oyster sauce, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sugar, cornstarch, and water/beef broth in a bowl.
  3. Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add marinated beef and cook until browned (about 2–3 minutes per side). Remove and set aside.
  4. Stir-fry sliced bell peppers and onions in the same skillet for about 3–4 minutes before adding minced garlic and ginger.
  5. Return beef to the skillet, pour in the sauce mixture, and cook until thickened (about 2–3 minutes).
  6. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot over rice or noodles.
