  • 1 cup (207g) sugar
  • 1/2 cup (57g) natural unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2/3 cup (153g) sour cream, room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 6 oz | 169g | 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips, melted and slightly cooled
  • 3 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 3/4 cups unsalted butter
  • 1 cup (114g) natural unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 6 cups (690g) powdered sugar
  • 3/4 cup heavy whipping cream
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 1/4 cups (380g) chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a greased springform pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Combine wet ingredients separately before mixing them into the dry ingredients until just combined.
  3. Bake half the batter for 25 minutes; repeat with the remaining batter.
  4. For the cheesecake layer, beat cream cheese until smooth, then mix in sugar and cocoa powder. Slowly add sour cream, melted chocolate chips, and eggs until fully incorporated.
  5. Pour the cheesecake filling over one cake layer; top with the second layer and bake for about 60 minutes.
