Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh salmon (cut into 4 equal pieces)
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter (divided)
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh ginger (grated)
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons chicken broth or water
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prep the Salmon: Remove salmon from the fridge for 15–20 minutes before cooking. Pat dry and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Make the Sauce: In a mixing bowl, whisk together brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic powder, lemon juice, grated ginger, Worcestershire sauce, chicken broth (or water), and cornstarch. Set aside.
  3. Sear the Salmon: Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Place salmon skin-side down and sear for about 5 minutes until golden brown. Flip carefully and cook for another 2–3 minutes.
  4. Glaze the Salmon: Add remaining butter to the skillet. Pour the prepared sauce around the salmon; let it bubble and thicken for about 20–30 seconds. Flip the salmon again to coat in glaze.
  5. Serve: Plate immediately with your favorite sides and sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley.
