Description

Apple Fritter Bites are the perfect blend of soft, fluffy dough and sweet, juicy apple chunks, making them an irresistible treat for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 1/2 cups finely diced apples (Honeycrisp or Gala)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease a baking sheet with nonstick spray.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. In a large bowl, mix melted butter and sugar until combined. Add egg, vanilla extract, and applesauce; whisk until smooth.
  4. Gradually incorporate dry ingredients into wet mixture until just combined. Fold in diced apples gently.
  5. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions onto the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake for about 10 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. While baking, prepare glaze by mixing powdered sugar with apple cider until smooth.
  8. Brush glaze over warm fritter bites and broil briefly for caramelization.
  9. Allow to cool for about 15 minutes before serving.
