- 1 1/2 tablespoons active dry yeast

- 1/4 cup vegetable oil or melted butter
- 5–1/2 cups bread flour
- 2 tablespoons melted butter (for topping)
Instructions
- Activate yeast by combining warm water, sugar, and powdered ginger (if using). Let sit for 10 minutes until frothy.
- In a separate bowl, mix the activated yeast mixture with warm milk and vegetable oil.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together salt and bread flour. Gradually add wet ingredients while stirring until combined.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm area until doubled in size (about 1–1.5 hours).
- Punch down the dough, divide into two loaves, and shape them. Place in greased loaf pans and let rise again until doubled (30–45 minutes).
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for about 30 minutes or until golden brown on top. Brush with melted butter after removing from oven.
