Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- 4 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 1/2 cups Domino® Golden Sugar
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 4 large eggs
- 1 1/4 cups milk
- 2 cups unsalted butter, room temperature (for frosting)
- 8 cups Domino® Powdered Sugar
- 2 tsp almond extract
- 3–5 tbsp heavy whipping cream
- Red and blue gel icing color
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Cream butter and vegetable oil, then add sugar until fluffy.
- Incorporate eggs one at a time and mix in vanilla.
- Alternately add milk and dry ingredients until combined.
- Fill cupcake pans and bake for 18–20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean; cool completely.
- Prepare frosting by beating butter and powdered sugar; add almond extract and cream for desired consistency.
- Divide frosting into three bowls; tint one red, another blue, leaving one white, then decorate cupcakes in flag design.
